Week 12

Here is the final Poster for my invention of OLED Wall Decals:

It is more of a concept poster or a proposal for a new project. I was not able to put a PDF file of the image on this website therefore if needed, I can send by e-mail.

Week 11

Part 2:

I decided to do an advertisment poster to introduce the product and make it a creative/imaginative idea. Here are two fast sketches I chose for my final idea of Oled Wall Decals. I am still unsure of which one to use so feel free to comment. I did remove the idea of being able to paint on it. As for the poster itself, the writing at the bottom will possibly be 3D by adding cut out letters or a stencil and the oled design itself will be 3D. Also, I did not add the text on the poster yet because I am unsure whether it will be in pointform or in a short paragraph. The text will include points such as;

- Made of organize light emitting diodes that are paper thin
- Easily removable and can be placed anywhere
- Comes in various different designs
- Equipped with an ambient light sensor inside
- Will have a switch to adjust the lighting
- Mostly replace light bulbs and lamps in the homes

(I apologize in advance for the unclear images)

These are two decals I made which will be used in the final poster

Idea #1

Idea #2

This is a quick version of what it may look like but it will most likely be finalized using Maya to give it a 3 dimensional effect and then edited on photoshop.

Week 10

Future Technologies Project

Part 1:

Oled Wall Decals

- My concept is to reduce the cost and the use of light power in the house by using Oled.

In 2020, with the on-going technology, the use of light bulbs will be the past because of the introduction of OLED technology. It will reduce the cost of lighting and be better for the environment. With the strength of Oled lighting incorporated with an ambient light sensor, we are able to create a wall sticker designed to brighten up the room. Organic light emitting diodes are thin films of organic molecules that create light with electricity and provides a much clearer image as well as using less power than most lights. The decal will come in multiple different designs that will be easily removable afterwards and can be placed anywhere else.
Also, the top layer of the OLED wall decal will be topped with a sheet of clear acrylic where the individual can paint on it with water-colours that can easily be taken off and repainted also. The wall stick will not be transparent.
Rather than having the trouble to install wire in the ceiling for lighting, these decals will have an ambiant light sensor to adjust the brightness display. Due to this sensor, the wall decal will be slightly thicker than paper but solid. There will be a soft switch so that the user will still be able to adjust the light if it needs to be brighter or turned off (unsure of where the switch should be/undetermined).

I have been inspired by Philips transparent-OLED wall that detects motion and these new wall stickers that replace wallpaper and painting. Also, Crozier's idea of stained glass Oled inspired me to be able to add colour to the designs.

1. putting cream on
2. working on the computer
3. driving
4. walking the dog
5. listening to music
